Updated

The peregrine falcon again accepted the nestbox at the Imperial Castle Nuremberg. We are looking forward for an exciting breeding season.

Updated

The nestbox was adopted by the peregrine falcon. The adult animals have successfully hatched two eggs. The young flew ou successfully. We look forward to the upcoming breeding season.

We installed an observation cam with insights into the events of the breeding peregrine falcons.

On top of the historical Sinwell tower of the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg there is no internet connection. To bring video and sounddata in the internet, we have established a wireless radio link which spans 250 meters to the nearest Internet connection.

The awareness of the project among all participants in a prominent location, such as the Imperial Castle Nuremberg requires perseverance and negotiation skills.

We are pleased with the result and thank for the openness of the participants: the Bavarian castles and lakes management, the Government of Middle Franconia, Nuremberg Castle administration, the State Building Authority of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Since the spring of 2013, the box is occupied by peregrine falcons and on the website of the project "Lebensraum Burg" you can follow the breeding action live during the season.
